A Service Advisor reports to the Service Manager. A Service Advisor is often required to attend a daily meeting to report their daily activities such as volume of customers/vehicles in on that day as well as any issues that they may have come across. Depending on the size of the business, some Service Advisors report their daily activities to the business owner instead.

The basic salary for a Service Advisor ranges between £24,000 – £26,000. However, some businesses offer additional commission or bonus if an employee meets all of their performance targets. This is called OTE or On Target Earnings. With this in mind the average salary, including OTE could range between £27,000 to £31,000. This can also vary based on a variety of different factors including location and experience.

OTE or On Target Earnings is usually the sum of your base salary plus any commissions or bonuses – the total compensation an employee can make if they meet all of their performance targets. An OTE salary system is often used as a commission incentive to encourage employees to meet their targets.

Service Advisors will usually work between 37 and 40 hours per week. In addition, this will include weekends, possibly evenings and in some cases bank holidays. Some companies also employ Service Advisors on a part-time basis.
